We usually recommend you avoiding the touristy downtown, but Sunday (21March) come by Vorosmarty square to listen to the Hungarian Folk Dance between 11AM-6PM. If you are lucky you catch the youngest generation singing and dancing for you.
If you are on tight budget do avoid the eateries at Vorosmarty square. Our travelers were complaining about paying 20Euros for a typical Hungarian dish. And of course, Don’t keep important things in ANY outside pockets in your backpack, jacket, or purse. Protect your belongings from the pickpockets. We just saw 2 people were caught by the police. We don't want to make you paranoid, enjoy the arts&crafts market together with the folk show and have a great day.
